Because of having non-linear variable structure and a zero on the right half plane, the cascode buck-boost becomes a challenging topic for control engineering. In this paper, an energy-based model of the converter is created and a controller design method using port-Hamiltonian is proposed. The developed controller is suitable for the non-linear system with variable structure, since the simulation results show the remarkable achievement of the proposed controller in command tracking and disturbance rejection.
