The research was a classroom action research. The data collected through quantitative and qualitative ways. Quantitative data was gained from the result of pre-test and post-test from writing test. Meanwhile, qualitative data was gained from the result of observation sheets toward students’ and teachers activity. The instrument used by the researcher were test and observation sheet. The finding of the research shows that the strategy can improve the students’ writing ability in descriptive text. the improvement can be seen from the mean score of students from pre-test, post-test one, and post-test two. 摘要

本研究旨在了解探究性学习策略是否能提高学生描述性文本的写作能力。本研究为课堂行动研究。通过定量和定性两种方法收集的数据。定量数据来源于写作测试的前测和后测结果。同时,从学生和教师的活动观察表的结果中获得定性数据。研究者使用的仪器是测试和观察片。研究结果表明,该策略可以提高学生在描述性文本中的写作能力。从前测、后测一、后测二三个阶段学生的平均成绩来看,成绩都有所提高。前测平均成绩为69.5分(35%),最低合格率为7人;后测第一项平均成绩为72.2分(60%),最低合格率为12人;后测第二项平均成绩为78.25分(85%),最低合格率为17人。
