In this article, we design a low-cost and low-power 2.4 GHz wake-up receiver (WuRX). Our WuRX uses discrete devices, including an RF signal detection circuit centered on a triode and a low-power comparator. Its working frequency is 2.4 GHz and the sensitivity in ADS simulation is about −70 dBm. When it is powered by 3 V, the static power consumption is 152 μw. In the indoors wireless test within a distance of 17 m, this WuRX can detect the signal accurately with the transmission speed of 100 kbps, and the missed detection rate at this speed is less than 0.1%. Furthermore, the outstanding advantage of our WuRX is low cost. The total cost of the chips are about 0.32$, which helps to reduce deployment costs in the Internet of Things significantly.
