The designed PMSM is used as inner rotor configuration. This paper addresses optimization of objective function as weight of PMSM, which is a paramount aspect using proposed designs and compares their performance indices using different approaches such as gravitational search algorithm (GSA) and its hybridization with particle swarm optimization (PSO). The formulated optimization problem is programmed in MATLAB and results using GSA and GSA-PSO have been obtained and compared in detail.
