Power quality improvement with shunt active filter under various mains voltage using Teaching Learning Based optimization 采用基于教与学的优化方法改善不同市电电压下并联有源滤波器的电能质量

In this paper, instantaneous reactive power theory based a modified control algorithm is implemented for 3-phase 3-wire shunt active power filter to suppress harmonics and reactive power under non ideal source voltage. The reference current signals are generated by sensing the source voltage, load current and dc bus voltage. With these signals the gate driving pulses are generated via hysteresis band current controller. To check robustness of the control algorithm four different cases such as unbalanced, balanced distorted, unbalanced distorted main voltage and faults on load are considered. For more improvement in the performance of active filter, the Active filter is optimized with Teaching-Learning-Based optimization. The simulation work is carried out in MATLAB/SIMULINK Power system block set. The performance of the implemented algorithm with Teaching-Learning-Based optimization is found quite effective and satisfactory under these conditions.

Fractional Discrete Cosine transformation based reduced set of coefficients for face recognition 基于分数阶离散余弦变换的简化系数集人脸识别

In this paper an attempt is made to explore the effect of using reduced set of Discrete Fractional Cosine Transformation based features on the face recognition accuracy. Input image feature set is transformed from spatial domain to spatial frequency domain using FRDCT. The large number of coefficients of fractional order spectrum of the face images obtained by the application of 2D FRDCT is scaled down by classical data dimensionality reduction technique LDA approach. Reduced feature set is then classified by the use of nearest neighbor classifier. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated through the simulation on the benchmark database (AT&T). Experimental results also show that unlike DCT, which preserves strong information packing capability, FRDCT also preserves this capability with varying rotation orders.

Fragile Watermarking technique for temper detection in audio signals 音频信号状态检测的脆弱水印技术

Due to rampant use of digital media and internet, a new danger has given birth to problems such as data tempering and security. Watermarking is the art of hiding some secret text or information in a host message. The host signal after watermarking should not change its characteristics. Least Significant Bit (LSB) technique is the most simple and efficient technique used for the watermarking. In this paper LSB is used on an audio signal to detect tempering of digital data. This technique is simple and has three keys for embedding watermark as well as extracting it.

Comparative analysis of dynamic responses of a damaged free-free beam with geometrically similar undamaged beams 损伤自由-自由梁与几何相似的未损伤梁动力响应的对比分析

In this paper, comparative analysis of structural dynamic responses of a damaged free-free beam has been reported. The dynamic responses evaluated in this work include the first ten natural frequencies of the damaged free-free beam and corresponding mode-shapes also. Natural frequencies and the mode-shapes of the damaged free-free beam have been compared with similar responses of geometrically similar undamaged free-free beam as well as an undamaged cantilever beam. Results show that the mode-shapes of the damaged free-free beam resemble more with the undamaged cantilever beam rather than an undamaged free-free beam. Possible reasons behind such kind of behaviour have also been discussed.

Energy conservation measures - case study of a cement unit 节能措施——以某水泥厂为例

The Perform, Achieve and Trade scheme under National Mission for Enhanced Energy Efficiency of Govt. of India aims to promote energy efficient measures in industries that consume power. Cement production is one of the most energy consuming industry and India is the second largest producer of cement in the world. This paper presents a case study of energy saving initiatives implemented in a cement unit. Among these are several retro-fittings, modifications and repair work at its captive power plant, cement grinding unit and for its lighting. This has resulted in substantial reductions in annual electrical energy consumption at about 23 percent. The paper discusses the measures taken in each phase of process flow from handling of raw materials, processing, storage till the dispatch of finished product.

Analysis to find the best Hybrid modulation technique for suppression of Four Wave Mixing 分析找出抑制四波混频的最佳混合调制技术

The latest trend in lightwave communication system is towards huge information transmission capacity by explosive growth in data rate communication. Wavelength division multiplexing is used to achieve this objective. It is a technology of transmitting data from different sources over a single link at same time whereas each data channel is carried on its own unique wavelength. Dense WDM is evolved from WDM where channel spacing is less than or equal to 100 GHz. But, their performance is limited by various Non-Linear effects which are caused by dependence of refractive index on the intensity of the optical power. Four Wave Mixing is a non linear process that generates new frequency components from the existing frequency components. Also, it degrades the system performance, so this has to be minimized. In this paper, three Hybrid modulation techniques have been discussed in 2.5 Gbps 8-channel DWDM system for suppression of four wave mixing. Firstly, the channels are equally spaced at 100 GHz and then the channel spacing has been reduced to 50 GHz. The techniques are based upon the level of FWM suppression. The three schemes: Low level reduction, High Level reduction and Intermediate Level reduction have been analysed at different distances from 50 Km to 150 Km at different input power levels so as to find the best technique based upon the results of eye diagram and Q factor. The simulation results show that the Intermediate technique is comparatively better than the other two.

Second order derivative free continuation method for solving nonlinear equations in ℝ 求解非线性方程的二阶导数自由延拓法

In this paper we develop the second order derivative free variants of a parameter based continuation method combining the Halley's and the Super-Halley's methods for solving nonlinear equations of the type f(x) = 0. The convergence analysis of method is discussed in ℝ. This shows that the new method has fourth-order convergence for α = 1 and third order for other values of α. Some numerical examples are worked out to demonstrate the efficiency and performance of the method. On comparison of the error |xα,n - x*|, Computational order of convergence (COC) and residual f(xα,n) for the values of the parameter α = 1 by our method with those obtained by the Halley's and the Super-Halley's methods. We observed that our method gives improved results. Also, we have compared our method with some existing methods by basins of attraction and observed that the proposed scheme is more efficient.

Cell detection in very low contrast images using Discrete Curvelet Transform and radon transform with morphological operations 细胞检测在非常低的对比度图像使用离散曲波变换和radon变换与形态学操作

Cell detection has been a crucial area in modern cell image processing applications. The low contrast cell images is a major limitation in cell detection. This paper proposes a method to detect cells in very low contrast cell images using Fast Discrete Curvelet Transform (FDCT), radon transform and morphological operations by reconstruction. The contrast of the cell images is improved by nonlinearly modifying the curvelet coefficients at selective scales. Further, radon transform is applied to reconstruct the image from the preprocessed image. Finally, the optimum morphological operations have been applied on the processed images to extract the cell regions from the low contrast cell images. The proposed method has been tested and improved cell detection results have been obtained.

A novel hybrid ICI cancellation technique for OFDM optimization 一种用于OFDM优化的新型混合ICI对消技术

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM), a most promising technique where multi-carrier modulation concept is implemented through splitting the signal into a number of signals, modulating each of these new signals to several orthogonal sub-carriers and combining the data received on the multiple channels at the receiver. Apart from delivering high spectrum efficiency, great channel robustness, immunity to impulse interferences, flexibility and easy equalization, OFDM is severely affected by undesirable effects of frequency offset errors (causes to generate inter carrier interface) due to Doppler shift in receiver frequency and Local oscillator frequency synchronization error. This paper describes some of the important ICI cancellation techniques, like Self Cancellation and Maximum Likelihood, and produces their performance comparative analysis with respect to BER and SNR. A new proposed technique is here by presented to further improve OFDM performance with varying Doppler shift error. The simulation results shows that proposed technique has significant improvements in the error performance and comparative analysis suggest that proposed technique has outperform legacy Self Cancellation and Maximum Likelihood ICI cancellation scheme with huge gain.

Cloud path selection using Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process for offloading in Mobile Cloud Computing 基于模糊层次分析法的移动云计算卸载路径选择

Mobile Cloud Computing (MCC) gains a significant attention in research domain due to the enhancement of capability and popularity of mobile devices in recent years. Due to the development of a variety of clouds which provides similar services to mobile devices, it becomes quite difficult to choose an optimum cloud for offloading the computationally intensive applications. The aim of selecting the cloud path is to select an optimum cloud from a set of clouds which provides the same cloud services. The selection of optimum cloud saves the execution time and availability of resources during the migration of computational tasks. For making final decision about selection of cloud path, many criteria need to be considered such as cost, speed, capacity, privacy, availability. In this paper, Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) based multiple criteria decision making approach is proposed which allows the user to select an optimal choice from a set of available choices. This paper uses FAHP technique, a fuzzy extension of Analytic hierarchy Process (AHP) to compare a set of clouds.
