This switchable antenna system provides multiple radiation patterns by controlling the status of switches. The antenna system has only one element connected to the RF port without the need for RF switches or phase shifter in the direct RF signal path. The active element is surrounded by parasitic elements symmetrically. In order to realize the switch of different radiation pattern, a control circuit is developed accordingly to control the maximum direction of the pattern.
