A survey on Wireless Body Sensor Network routing protocol classification
There is a drastic growth in the world population around the globe. This rapid development has resulted in progress of advanced techniques in field of life sciences and medicine leading to healthier environment to live in. But this adversely has drawback of increasing the population of older class of people who require much more sophisticated environment. In order to overcome this problem the Wireless Body Sensor Networks (WBSNs) are used. A WBSN is a system which plays critical role in managing health issues of aged population group, busy people or the young children who require assistance. The patient cannot be expected to stay at same place for longer duration of time. The patients are assumed to be similar to mobile nodes. To bring about an effective communication between these mobile nodes, there is a need for design of routing protocol suitable for WBSN. Further design of routing protocol is done by taking into consideration characteristics of bandwidth, power utilized, energy and several other factors. The proposed work provides detailed review of existing routing protocols in WBSN along with their pros and cons, thereby providing a platform for development of much effective routing protocol in WBSN.
