However, in presence of power swing condition if any fault occurs then the relay immediately operate to maintain security for the apparatus.In series compensated line during power swing the fault detection is very complicated due to capacitor in the protection circuit. In this paper by negative sequence component of current the classification and location of symmetrical and unsymmetrical fault is easily possible.
