To achieve this objective, the researchers used the descriptive method and designed a questionnaire of these dimensions: freedom of teaching, freedom of decision-making, freedom of scientific research and freedom of expression. The study was conducted on a sample of (72) faculty members. The results showed that the faculty members of the Algerian university exercised academic freedom to a moderate degree. Freedom of teaching came first, followed by freedom of scientific research and freedom of expression.
