Interview with Military Chaplain Maksim Strikhar, Conducted in Kyiv, Ukraine, 7 February 2019 (UKR)

Maksim Strikhar, born in 1967 in Kyiv, is a priest of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine and the abbot of the parish of St. George the Victorious in Kiev. Strikhar was educated at the Collegium of Patriarch Mstyslav and was consecrated in 2007. As a military chaplain he worked with the soldiers of the Right Sector Ukrainian Volunteer Corps, the Dnipro-1, Lugansk, Aidar, and Donbas volunteer battalions, the Kyiv Regiment, the 128th Independent Mountain Assault Transcarpathian Brigade, the 93rd Cold Yar Independent Mechanized Brigade, and the 53rd Independent Mechanized Brigade.
