Predicting Strength Criteria of Hardened Concrete Containing Waste Glass Powder
This paper presented the importance of using waste glass powder as a partial replacement of cement in concrete, by investigating some properties of hardened concrete which containing milled glass and compared with the control mix without replacement. Three percentage of milled glass have been used; 0%, 10%, 15%, which consider the best adding percentage with particle, size less than $75\mu m$. These investigations included compressive strength, flexural strength, splitting strength, and ultrasonic pulse velocity test. The results of these tests showed the development of all strength because glass powder has a high pozzolanic effect (high content of silica) which improves the properties of concrete also reduces the emission of $co_{2}$ come from the production of cement. A new mathematical model to predict the strength incorporating glass powered concrete is presented.
