The goal of the program should be to build faculty confidence at using information technology in the classroom. In this regard, the construct of computer self-efficacy is a useful guide for planning the activities of the program. A training model in which faculty will have the greatest opportunity to share ideas across disciplines as well as within their disciplines is recommended. Faculty who use computers for instruction are internally motivated to do so, and this is mediated by their self-efficacy, hence appropriate training is the key.
