The problems of monitoring the temperature of cable insulation are an urgent problem in the electric power industry. One of the most promising areas of research is the development of methods for determining the residual lifetime of cable insulation, which can be calculated from monitoring temperature of insulation and other factors that significantly affect the insulation material. The paper analyzes the possible methods to monitor the cable insulation temperature.
