The major hysteresis loops (MHL) are measured using vibrating sample magnetometer with the applied field perpendicular and parallel to the membrane plane. It is observed that the MHL squareness, S ,for the in plane and perpendicular configurations is S/sub inplane/ < S/sub perp/ for Ni2, Ni3 and S/sub inplane/ > S/sub perp/ for Ni6.
