In clinical laboratory counting of different types of blood cells is important for physician to diagnose the diseases in particular patient. Therefore there is a need to research for an automated blood cell detection system that will help physician to diagnose diseases in fast and efficient way. Many researchers have done their research for counting blood cells using different methodologies. This paper reviews different methodologies that have been used for blood cell counting.
