The subjects of this study were 27 students of class VIII- 81  OF SMP Santo Thomas 3 Medan in academic year 2018/2019. Test, observation sheet, and field notes were used as a instruments for collecting data. The results of the study showed significant improvement of the students’ vocabulary. It is proved by the students’ mean score of each test: pre-test was 65,33%, formative test was 72,59% and post-test  was 85,92% . In addition, the, the analysis result of the observation sheet and field notes showed Mind Mapping Technique channge the students’ learning behavior being better than before. They were more enthusiastic during the teaching learning process in each cycle. The analysis result of questionnaire showed that Mind Mapping Technique  was useful to most of students to improve their learnig interest in vocabulary. Based on the results of those study instruments, it can be concluded that Mind Mapping Technique as learning technique gives the improvement to students’ vocabulary. 摘要

本研究旨在探讨思维导图技术对提高八年级学生词汇学习成绩是否有效,并了解学生在使用思维导图技术进行教学后的反应。为了达到toÂ的研究目的,本研究设计并进行了课堂行动研究。本研究以2018/2019学年棉兰圣托马斯中学VIII- 81 Â班27名学生为研究对象。采用试验、观察表和现场记录作为收集数据的工具。研究结果表明,学生的词汇量有了显著的提高。各测试学生的平均成绩证明:前测成绩为65.33%,形成性测试成绩为72.59%,post-testÂ成绩为85.92%。此外,对观察表和现场笔记的分析结果表明,思维导图技术对学生学习行为的改变比以前更好。在每个周期的教学过程中,他们都表现得更加热情。问卷分析结果显示,思维导图TechniqueÂ对大部分学生提高词汇学习兴趣有帮助。基于这些学习工具的结果,我们可以得出结论,思维导图技术作为一种学习方法,对学生的词汇量有很大的提高。建议英语教师在词汇教学中运用思维导图技术,以提高学生的词汇量。
