Fostering the personal quality of engineering students is therefore the top priority for teachers who work in the engineering education fields. In this paper, ire will review the pivot principles that affect the cultivation of creative thinking, based on our teaching experiences in industrial design. Multimedia courseware, as an effective way in cultivating student's creative thinking, will be studied in terms of it content and application. Several design projects will be taken as template to analyze the creative thinking process in specific design. Common rules for conducting creative thinking in industrial design will be investigated and formulated, and proposals for the inspiration of creative thinking in engineering education will be suggested.
