A Triple-Band Monopole Antenna for Mobile Handsets and the Effect of the Handset Components
A compact monopole antenna operating at GSM (880- 960 MHz), GPS (center at 1575 MHz), and UMTS (1920-2170 MHz) bands is presented. With three folded meandering branches, the antenna covers the wireless communication bands of GSM, GPS and UMTS. The final antenna is formed by folding one print circuit board (PCB) on which the radiation branches are depicted. And the effect of the other parts in the handset is considered.
