Low-watt compact fluorescent lamps with electronic ballasts
The current number of compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) in power distribution systems is increasing because of their low energy consumption, in comparison with traditional incandescent lamps, and their long average useful life. This paper studies CFL modeling. A "black box" model of CFLs is presented and the analytical expressions of CFL harmonic currents are provided. The study is based on experimental measurements, and numerical simulations with the PSpice simulation program and customized MATLAB software for harmonic analysis.
