KONSEP TOLERANSI BERAGAMA DALAM AL-QURAN PERSPEKTIF BUYA HAMKA DAN THOIFUR ALI WAFA

In social life there are various differences such as cultural backgrounds and also religions. In facing the differences, we must have tolerance so that social live remains initen and not divided. According to Buya Hamka and Thoifur Ali Wafa, tolerance is an attitude of extending peace to other religions and giving freedom to others in choosing a religion according to their respective beliefs without compulsion. The purpose of this research is to analyze the forms and limitations of religious tolerance in Quran according to Buya Hamka and Thoifur Ali Wafa. The method used is a qualitative approach by conducting library research. The primary data sources are Tafsir Al-Azhar and Firdaus Al-Na’im . The verses studied cover surah Al-Baqarah verse 256, surah Al-An’am verse 108, surah Al-Mumtahanah verse 8-9, surah Al-Kafirun verse 1-6. Based on the result of this research it can be concluded that the concept of religious tolerance according to Buya Hamka and Thoifur Ali Wafa, it is only limited to matters relating to worldly muamalah and not matters related to the realm of aqidah or belief.
