This paper firstly defines the concept of service-oriented manufacturing information system through studying literatures; analyzes system's main function characteristics and performance requirements by comparing with traditional manufacturing model, and then builds a basic architecture of information system, which can provide a scientific and operable framework for enterprise managers' IT planning.
