In this paper, an algorithm, named CCHN, is proposed to solve the partitional clustering problem. An outer chaotic mechanism with annealing strategy is introduced into the competitive Hopfield neural network to construct CCHN for expecting better opportunities of converging to the optimal solution. In addition to retain the competitive characteristics of the conventional competitive Hopfield neural network, CCHN displays a rich range of complex and flexible chaotic dynamics. The chaotic dynamics and the annealing strategy guarantee the powerful searching ability and the effective convergence of CCHN. Results simulated on clustering benchmark problems show that CCHN algorithm is more likely to find an optimal or near-optimal solution with a higher successful ratio than previous algorithms.

The striking competitiveness of modern-day companies is more than ever a direct function of their ability to implement high yielding processes and continuous optimization. Such optimization, however, is becoming increasingly harder to realize, due to the growing complexities of processes, networks, manufacturing system structures as well as business processes. The limitation of optimization tools exacerbates the difficulties in achieving competitiveness. The objective of this work is to investigate the merits and demerits of integrating systems tools for optimizing breakthroughs in manufacturing or business processes using DMAIC and DOE. The application and power of process optimization are examined using the semiconductor manufacturing industry. We seek to demonstrate that “integrated methodology” application to process optimization can enable enterprises to achieve substantial innovation and contribute to their quality standards, lower their cost and boost their competitiveness irrespective of the limitations that current tools may have.

With a rapid development of biological industry in China, an efficient supervision over the biological reagent (BR) situates on an imperative part wherein. Adopting third-part resources and reconstructing supervision process become both available ways for the government. Trading off the efficiency and security, this paper applies queuing theory and optimization theory to analyze the best supervision strategy. The study demonstrates the existence of optimal solution for a given condition, and makes sensitivity analysis with various BR's characteristics. Consequently, the paper specifies the condition in which the third-party proportion and reconstruction degree should raise with the increase of BR's value and demand, reduce with the decrease of BR's risk. The conclusion proposes the reasonability and necessity of adopting classified supervision.

The rapid development of cultural media industry has become a new economic growth point of the national China's economy. This paper utilizes multivariate statistical method, and carried carries out the factor analysis of 14 key financial indicators for 39 listed companies in 2013 of the China's cultural media industry. Four common factors are extracted as: company scale merit factor, company profitability ability factor, company solvency factor, and company asset growth ability factor. According to the scores of each factor, this study calculates the comprehensive score ranking and other factor score ranking of the 39 listed companies, the obtained results are analyzed in detail. On this basis, the cluster analysis is conducted according to the listed companies' comprehensive scores, these - the 39 companies can be divided into four categories, and each category is performed in deep analysis. Finally, this paper puts forward corresponding conclusions and recommendations.

Manufacturing servitization has become a significant trend in recent years, as what the manufacturing enterprises provide change from products to service packages. Manufacturing servitization is described as the innovation of business model. In the “new normal” economy, the rapid development of manufacturing servitization will give impetus to industrial transformation and upgrading. In order to analyze the key factors in its success what should be taken into consideration, the paper builds a business model analysis framework which is comprehensive enough to cover both macro and micro aspect, and gives suggestions to the government and the enterprise to promote the development of manufacturing servitization.

the 2006 Massachusetts health care reform was passed to achieve universal health insurance coverage in the state. This paper analyzes the effect of this reform on financial performance of Massachusetts hospitals. This study uses financial ratios of hospitals to track changes in their financial health after implementation of universal health coverage. The event is described as the implementation of universal health coverage in Massachusetts which took effect in June 2006, and is coded as `1' for before implementation of the law and `2' for after implementation. Financial ratios and Financial Strength Indextm1 of 65 hospitals over ten years (2002-2012) are calculated and used in this study. Panel data analysis includes control variables related to event-period, total assets, and dependent variables such as operating margin and financial strength index. Principal results indicate that the health care reform significantly affects the hospitals' financial strength index in Massachusetts and the extent of impact varies from hospital to hospital due to the characteristics of hospitals in terms of total assets and hospital type. Findings also reveal that operating margin of the hospitals was not significantly affected by the healthcare reform.

The promotion method can effectively improve the enterprises' economic efficiency or not, it is a question that all enterprises are concerning. Taking economic value added (EVA) as the evaluation index for the promotion effect, it can really reflect the operating results of enterprises, pay attention to the sustainable development of the company, promote enterprises to implement more effective promotion method, and reduce the cost of enterprises. According to Maslow's demand theory, this paper proposed the promotion combination, taking EVA as the index to evaluate the promotion combination, presented the promotion evaluation model of EVA and the process of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. Take the examples to evaluated the promotion effect, and verify the evaluation model.

This paper analyzes the possibilities of Nanchang and Jiujiang as a whole driving the regional economic development based on the theory of “Dual-Core” structure and financial agglomeration. From the financial scale, financial efficiency and financial environment three indicators to construct the evaluation index system of financial agglomeration, then based on the financial agglomeration index including industrial concentration degree, spatial gini coefficient, location entropy to make an empirical analysis of regional financial agglomeration effect, thus further puts forward suggestions to strengthen regional financial agglomeration.

This paper investigates the impact of the retailer's overconfident preference on the supply chain performance under demand uncertainty in a duopoly market. We consider a two-echelon supply chain composed of one rational manufacturer, one rational retailer and one overconfident retailer. In the duopoly market, the demand is affected by retailers' selling prices and other random factors. According to the overconfident retailer's overconfident information characteristic and game mode, we study two cases: (1) the rational retailer knows that the other retailer has overconfident preference; (2) the rational retailer doesn't know that the other retailer has overconfident preference. We build a mathematical model and conduct numerical method to analyze the effect of overconfident level on the optimal pricing and order decisions and the expected profits. We find that the higher the overconfident level is, the higher the selling price the overconfident retailer charges and this results in larger profit loss.

In this paper, the purchase preference of consumers is considered to construct a three-stage game model for investigating the influence of different types of subsidy on the carbon reduction and optimal decisions of supply chain members under the condition of an exogenously given emission tax. Results show that regardless of whether subsidies are given based on the carbon reduction level or on output, they will not only increase the benefits of the supply chain members, but will also promote social welfare. The government can provide subsidies based on the carbon reduction level when carbon tax is low and based on enterprise production when carbon tax is high. Furthermore, we determine that equilibrium product quantity, carbon emission, retailer profit, and social welfare decline with the increase in the consumer preference coefficient, regardless of whether the government is providing a subsidy. Our results provide significant guidelines for the government to subsidize the carbon reduction activities of enterprises and to encourage enterprises to reduce their carbon emissions..
