To Investigate the Fire Safety Characteristics of Daily Rental Suite in Taiwan
As tourists in Taiwan continue to bloom each year, statistics show that the demands for accommodations increase as well. Since the rate for rental suite on daily basis is relatively low, the number of daily rental suites rise as a result. However, in Taiwan daily rental suites are premises that may not necessarily comply with the fire safety legislation, causing more fire accidents, deaths, and property loss. The purpose of the research is to investigate the fire safety of daily rental suite in Taiwan, by comparing the fire risks of the suites equipped with or without the fire protection. The factors involved including door opening condition, detector, and smoke exhaust system. The result of FDS indicates that the rental suites with detector start evacuation time earlier for safe escape. Furthermore, heat release rate would not increase if rooms are built with partition material, and neither would the fire expand. Fire can be controlled and even put out if a sprinkler is installed.
