On frequency offset estimation in the presence of narrowband interference
Synchronization is a key issue in any digital communication system. In this paper, the problem of frequency offset estimation is addressed in detail, with focus on receiver design in the presence of narrowband interference. The basic idea is to use correlation properties of periodic training sequence combined with proper windowing for interference rejection. The performance of the proposed frequency offset estimator is analyzed using computer simulations and shown to be robust in the face of considered interference scenarios.
