All decisions are based on information which has to be interpreted in context. By making the information systems context-aware we can have systems that significantly improve the human capabilities to handle situations. Further, most of the time, we react to events that take place. We organize activities, and gather information and resources, in response and handle the event in the context in which it takes place. The challenge comes up when we design systems that support our abilities to handle events, anticipated as well as unanticipated. In this tutorial be discuss the current state of the art for Context-aware Systems, Event-driven Systems and present some ideas towards the design and implementation of Context-aware, Event-driven Systems.
