摘要

本文着重探讨了中国英语大学生提高阅读理解能力的适当方法。本研究建议在教学环境中精读与泛读相结合。具体而言,课堂阅读应由两部分组成:1)精读活动,包括阅读理解技能的明确指导;2)广泛的阅读活动,增加中国英语大学生的背景和词汇知识,为理解文本铺平道路。课外泛读应该由包含课堂上出现的新词汇的重复阅读材料组成,这样可以巩固学习者在课堂上所学到的阅读理解技能。
