An early evaluation of these factors is a difficult task, requiring the consideration of numerous interactions. In this paper, the development of a simulation model for the evaluation of the sensitivity of a mechatronic system is described, using the example of a light guide. By applying Design of Experiments (DOE), the influence of individual design parameters on the overall system is determined and the robustness estimated. The investigation aims to compare the influence of mechanical and electronic parameters and their effect on the sensitivity of a mechatronic product.
