WAR AND CAPTIVITY THEMES IN THE «LAWCODE» BY MKHITAR GOSH

The purpose of this study is to present the laws about war and captivity in the "Lawcode" by Mkhitar Gosh. The task of the work is to present the original texts of the subject in three editions by comparing them and then to analyze their meanings. The importance and relevance of the study are the characteristics of the church-historical realities, and the development of the state-juridical structure. The author's views on nation consciousness and protection, in order to rebuild the statehood by the way of public unity and law codes, are important and actual. The article is written based on historical-research analysis of the sources and studies. The conclusion of the article is that Mkhitar Gosh emphasized war and captivity themes and wrote the laws for topic issues. He told about the war and it’s results and wanted people to prevent their nation values in public life. The study includes all the original texts of the themes.
