Manufacturers have already deployed RFID technology in products that could be spoiled during transportation due to temperature extremes. For example, frozen chicken has a high risk of salmonella contamination if it becomes too warm for a long time. If the temperature exceeds a certain threshold, a permanent electrical change occurs in the RFID-based label. When the RFID reader interrogates the tag, it will respond with data that indicates the warning state as well as its ID. In this paper, a mobile diagnosis system based on RFID (radio identification) for food safety is developed. The developed system consists of a mobile server and a remote server. In the mobile server, a PDA equipped with RFID CF reader card is used to acquire the food temperatures from RFID sensors. Moreover, the multi-sensor fusion algorithm is applied to integrate the sensor information. X-bar chart or trend chart is used to observe the operation condition of the food. Subsequently, further analysis can be executed over the remote diagnosis server, if necessary. And through wireless network, related personnel can hold an on-line dialogue for troubleshooting
