Reconfigurable metamaterial unit-cell with controllable refractive index
In this paper a new reconfigurable metamaterial unit-cell is presented. The unit-cell has two PIN-diodes and operates in the frequency range of 1-4 GHz. Four different configurations can be achieved by switching the diodes that provides a maximum difference of 2 in the value of the unit-cell's refractive index. This unit-cell can be used in advanced reconfigurable antenna applications.
