A dual frequency notched coplanar tapered slot antenna using split ring resonators is proposed. The SRRs are placed beneath a modified slotline and excited by a microstrip to slot line transition. The proposed design concept is validated using a simulator and measured results will be presented in the conference.

Impedance matching of a frequency- and pattern-reconfigurable antenna 频率和模式可重构天线的阻抗匹配

The authors have recently proposed a frequency- and pattern-reconfigurable antenna based on center-shorted patch antenna, which is tuned with six stub-loaded varactors. This antenna has the capability of switching between a broadside radiation pattern and monopole-like omni-directional pattern across a frequency tuning range of 2.7 GHz to 3.5 GHz. Using a single tuning bias voltage, the measured return loss was between 9.8 dB and 15 dB at the resonance frequencies across the tuning range. It will be demonstrated in this paper that the return loss at the resonance frequencies can be significantly improved to more than 30 dB with virtually no cost by using two reverse bias voltages controlling two groups of three tuning varactors. It is noted that the antenna design employing open-circuited loading stubs allows the use of different bias voltages on different varactors.

The canonical problem of focusing the intensity of the a field in a given point of space while fulfilling upper bounds elsewhere is addressed and solved for the 3D vector case. The approach takes advantage from results available for the case of scalar fields, and allows the achievement of the globally optimal solution.

A miniaturized clock generator for a time-domain microwave breast health monitoring device 一种用于时域微波乳房健康监测装置的小型时钟发生器

This work presents the use of a compact and cost-effective clock generator to be incorporated in a time-domain microwave medical device. We demonstrate the ability of the Adafruit Si5351 development board as an alternative to the currently used table-top Tektronix gigaBERT 1400. We demonstrate the ability to produce low-noise clock signals from the development board that allows for the proper triggering of both the impulse generator and high-speed oscilloscope in our system. The choice of the Adafruit Si5351 as a replacement clock is validated by the analysis of the resulting pulse stability. The paper also compares the shape of the waveforms produced by the system to verify that they remain unchanged.

Convergence of a Global Surface Impedance boundary condition in the analysis of plasmonic structures 等离子体结构分析中全局表面阻抗边界条件的收敛性

This paper presents a convergence criterion for the Global Surface Impedance (GSI) boundary condition method used in the analysis of 3D plasmonic structures made of rectangular strips. The use of unknown current distributions on the surface of the structure in this method entails significant reduction in the computational cost of the analysis. The presented convergence criterion provides a necessary condition for the convergence of the GSI matrix.

An electrically small antenna fully embedded in an LTCC substrate suitable for SoP integration 一种完全嵌入适合SoP集成的LTCC基板中的电小型天线

In this paper an electrically small dipole antenna fully embedded in an LTCC substrate is presented. The antenna exhibits small dimensions of 12.2×5.1×0.7 mm3. It is suitable for SoP integrated RF-front end modules operating at 2.45 GHz. It makes an efficient use of the multilayer capabilities provided by LTCC technology, where the matching circuit components are fully embedded into the substrate. This makes the antenna intrinsically matched and excludes the need for soldering any additional matching components. Feeding of the antenna is done on its backside using a miniaturized HSC surface mount connector. It has good simulated radiation efficiency of 50%.

Wide stop-band angular stable frequency selective surface for millimeter-wave applications 宽阻带角稳定频率选择表面毫米波应用

A wide stop-band angular stable frequency selective surface (FSS) is presented. This FSS consist of two spiral structures separated by a substrate in the middle. It exhibits a wide stop-band of 20 GHz in the frequency range of V-band. Furthermore it produces a stable angular response upto 80 degree for both TE and TM incidence modes. Since it provides a wide stop-band and good angular stability, it is suitable for millimeter-wave shielding applications.

An antenna for switch beam, multi-beam millimetre-wave cellular systems 用于开关波束、多波束毫米波蜂窝系统的天线

This paper presents the design and implementation of a compact, two-dimensional antenna with broadband performance capable of increasing system capacity for next generation 5G base stations. This simple low profile, parallel plate Luneburg lens can be exploited to ensure high energy efficiency, higher data rates, spectral efficiency, and extended coverage leading to a reduction in the number of physical base station antennas, and towers. Inserted between the parallel plates are two identical machined dielectric lens profiles each with a smooth dielectric permittivity gradient, varying from 2 at the center to 1 at the edge corresponding to Luneburg lens design specification. The lens is fed by ultra-low loss open-ended waveguides with probe launchers to inject multiple independent beams at the lens surface and between the plates. The broadband lens has a 3-dB beamwidth of 40° × 5.3° in the E and H plane and an average radiation efficiency greater than 70%. Cross-polarization and port isolation is greater than 30 dB, allowing for the effective co-existence of multiple input beams. The switch beam antenna implementation was optimized to operate in the Ku-band but can be scaled to any suitable mm-wave frequency.

A large array of dielectric resonator antenna is designed based on using Electrically Steerable Passive Array Radiator (ESPAR) concept as a subarray in the X-band. The concept is like using more than one excited element in the array to strengthen the far away elements when the mutual coupling becomes weak and affects the required power distribution for the array.

The Paper presents a FSS which theoretically converts linear polarization to pure circular polarization at the center frequency 30GHz. The polarizer consists of new structure printed on a RT-5880 substrate. In order to decrease size of traditional design of Jerusalem-cross, a ring is used in the center of FSS. The polarizer provides the required 90° phase difference between the TE and TM polarizations, which are equal in magnitude.
