The purposive sampling procedure was used for data collection. Five government schools and five private schools were selected for the study. Only tenth grader 130 female students and their parents were selected for the study. Questionnaires were used for the girls and their parents and the tool was developed in Hindi in the light of objectives for easy understanding. Results depicts that girls have less interest in Home Science because of less career options and weaning interest, which are the reasons for its deteriorating popularity.
