For designing a good communication infrastructure for the smart meters, it is necessary to study the short term power consumption pattern which is equivalent to the information source pattern in communication systems. To design a system to reduce the power consumption for individual users in scheduled duration Instead of power cuts there will be a scheduled restricted power supply. We implement GSM based remote controlling station from where we send control information consist maximum power consumption and restriction period.
