A Conceptualization of Industry 4.0 Adoption on Textile and Clothing Sector in Indonesia
As the global competition tightens, government and private sectors seek for solutions to increase the competitiveness of the textile and clothing industry. Industry 4.0 technology has been considered to bring significant potential by improving efficiency and reducing cost. Despite its potential, the implementation of Industry 4.0 faces several obstacles. Hence, the government issued a long-term plan for adoption of Industry 4.0 named Making Indonesia 4.0. However, whether those policies can succeed in the adoption or not, remains a question. This research aims to obtain the structure of policies that can push or limit the adoption of Industry 4.0 technology and its impact on overall energy footprint on the textile and clothing sector in Indonesia. The research explores the structural relationships of how the textile and apparel industry could faster adopt industry 4.0 technology by also considering the roles of stakeholders in the industry.
