This study evaluated NCAA Division I women ice hockey players’, coaches’, and referees’ opinions as to intent to injure, aggression, and the non-checking rule. Major penalty minutes were also analyzed for the 2013-2014 season. Data revealed that intent to injure is not recognized by referees.
