Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is a mental health disorder that produces fear worry and a constant feeling of being overwhelmed. This on-going worry and tension may be accompanied by physical symptoms, such as restlessness, feeling on edge or easily fatigued, difficulty concentrating, muscle tension or problems sleeping. Being an alarming disease, it requires effective management. In recent years several synthetic drugs have been introduced for the treatment of anxiety disorders. Clinical trials have shown that anxiolytic drugs alone have limited long term efficacy and one cannot avoid major side effects such as drug dependence, drug resistance, sedation etc. Ayurveda follows psychosomatic approach of health. Acharya Charaka explains three types of therapies of physical and mental disorders Daivavyapasraya, Yuktivyapasrya, Satvajaya Chikitsa. So the present study deals with systemic review of Chittodvega from all the classics of Ayurveda and its management.

Cervical radiculopathy, a prevalent condition in today's world, arises from degenerative changes in the cervical spine. It commonly emerges during the fourth and fifth decades of life. Lifestyle factors, such as prolonged screen use, sedentary habits, and occupational strain, significantly contribute to its widespread occurrence. This ailment disrupts daily life, causing neck pain, radiating discomfort, and sensory disturbances. The contemporary surge in cervical radiculopathy highlights the impact of evolving lifestyles on musculoskeletal health, underscoring the need for proactive preventive measures. The Sushruta Samhita Nidana Sthana classifies Vishwachi under Vata Vikara, affecting the neck and upper extremities with symptoms akin to cervical radiculopathy. Both conditions share manifestations of Ruka, Stambha, Toda, Karmakshaya, and Chestapaharan of Bahu with Vata being the predominant Dosha responsible for Shoola. This article explores the impact of Matra Basti in managing Vishwachi, recognizing Basti as the premier therapeutic approach for Vata Vikara. There are many Siddha Taila used for Matra Basti in Vishwachi. Sahachara Taila (Cha.Chi.28/145) is one of them. The focus is on assessing the efficacy of Sahachara Taila Matra Basti in addressing the manifestations of Vishwachi, aligning with the acknowledged effectiveness of Basti in treating disorders associated with the Vata Dosha.

Ayurveda, considered the oldest form of healthcare globally, aligns individuals with the inherent principles of nature to maintain overall well-being by harmonizing body, mind, and spirit. In the contemporary age of rapid modernization and hectic lifestyles, people lead busy and stressful lives, marked by a growing consumption of high-calorie fast food. The prevalence of sedentary habits contributes to an increase in total body fat and cholesterol. It leads to health issues such as hypertension, heart diseases, hyperlipidemia, and truncal obesity. Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a disorder of energy and storage containing of risk factor for various complications such as Type 2 diabetes mellitus and cardio vascular disease. Being an alarming disease, it requires effective management. In recent years several synthetic drugs have been introduced for the treatment of metabolic syndrome. Clinical trials have shown that antihypertensive, antidiabetic, antilipidemic drugs alone have limited long term efficacy and one cannot avoid major side effects such as drug dependence, drug resistance, sedation etc. Ayurvedic medicine provides a range of measures. In Ayurvedic literature, Acharya Charaka has mentioned group of diseases which arises due to over intake of heavy meals and sedentary life style collectively called as Santarpana Janya Vyadhi which can be symptomatically co-related with metabolic syndrome. Acharya Charaka has specified treatment methods involving substances (Dravyabhuta Chikitsa) and non-substances (Adravyabhuta Chikitsa) for conditions caused by over-nourishment, such as Vaman, Virechana, Raktmokshana, Vyayama (exercise), Dhooma(fumigation), Swedana(sudation), and Rooksha Anna Sewana (intake of dry substances). This paper aims to review metabolic syndrome in Ayurveda and its corresponding management strategies.

Mental health disorders are mentioned as 3rd health burden in India according to WHO survey. Generalized anxiety disorders are a chronic anxiety disorder characterized by excessive and uncontrollable worry and anxiety about everyday life events and situations. In Ayurveda many psychological disorders are mentioned in Samhitas. Terms like Asvastha Chitta, Chittavimbhramsa, Chittodvega etc. seems similar to Generalized anxiety disorder, however Chittodvega seems to be nearest correlation for this disease entity. Acharya Charaka has listed Chittodvega as Manas Dosha Vikara. People with symptoms of Generalized anxiety disorder always tend to expect failure and can't stop worrying, Clinical trials have shown that anxiolytic drugs alone have limited long-term efficacy. Moreover, they often have adverse side effects including dependency, drowsiness, impaired cognition and memory and sexual dysfunction. Being an alarming disease GAD needs an effective management. Nowadays Yoga is considered as a popular approach to improve emotional health. Yoga, a form of holistic mind–body medicine, that includes the use of physical postures (Asanas), breathing practices (Pranayamas), meditations, relaxation techniques and lifestyle changes based on ancient yogic philosophy. Pranayama should be practiced to remove the blockages and to lift you out of the Tamasik and Rajasik states. Asanas empathizes physical strength and helps to maintain balance between mind and body. Yoga helps to restraint unnecessary mental fluctuations and thus helps in stabilizing and calming the mind. Thus it might be an effective and safe intervention for individuals with GAD.

Skin is a vital organ of communication with external world and has an eternal relationship with manas (i.e., psyche/mind). Therefore, a skin disease produces anxiety, depression and other psychological problems and affect the quality of life. Most of the skin disease treatment take long time to show their effects and has many side-effects. So, people are looking for new ways to improve their health and they are turning to natural remedies and ayurvedic treatments rather than pharmaceutical drugs. Ayurveda advises Shodhana and Shamana Chikitsa for management of any health problems. Vamana, Virechana, Basti, Nasya and Raktmokshana included under Panchashodhana mentioned in classics. Raktamokshana is a procedure indicated in conditions where vitiation of Rakta is present. Rakta and pitta have Ashrayashrayi Sambandha, so Raktamokshana is also beneficial in Pittaja disorders. Most of the skin conditions are considered due to vitiation of Rakta and Pitta. Among Raktamokshana procedure Jalaukavcharna is said to be most beneficial in Pitta predominance conditions.

Sleep is a naturally recurring state of mind and body. Insomnia disorder is defined as a subjective perception or complaint of inadequate or poor-quality sleep. Anidra has been described in detail by Acharyas in various contexts like Vata Nanatmaja Vikara, Vataja Jwara etc. Panchkarma therapies like Shirodhara, Shirobasti, Shiroabhyang, Shiropichu, Padaabhyang is very useful in treatment of Anidra. Insomnia is the most commonly encountered sleep disorder and occurs 10-50% of the population. Worldwide epidemiological studies assessed the prevalence of insomnia without restrictive criteria as 33% in general population. In Ayurveda, insomnia is described as Anidra and Nidranash under the heading of different disorders and conditions. Allopathic hypnotic drugs are useful for short term treatment in insomnia which is due to acute stage. Long term uses of certain classes of sedatives cause physical dependence, Ayurvedic approach in the disease is by pacifying the Doshas, paying special attention to Vata- Shamana, Santarpana and Srotoshodhak. Hence, with the aim of identifying and establishing an alternative, safer, effective and long-lasting treatment modality, the study entitled “Clinical Evaluation of Mahanarayana Taila Matra Basti in Anidra (Primary Insomnia)” was conducted in 56 patients. They were selected on the basis of standard inclusion and exclusion criteria and randomly allocated to two different treatment groups; Group- A (Mahanarayana Taila Matra Basti) and Group- B (Zolpidem). Total duration of the treatment was of 14 days along with a follow up period of 1 month. Both the interventions were almost equally effective, but in overall improvement of the patients “Group A” had better results than Group B. For better scientific validation, further research studies and clinical trials should be carried out with large sample size and longer duration of treatment.

Introduction: The modern man must cope with a variety of difficulties, strains, stressors and anxieties. Irregular and unnatural eating habits, repressing natural cravings, inadequate sleep and a lack of downtime are inseparable components of our routine that drain the body's energy and eventually result in disease. Excessive crying, anguish, fear and terror have all been linked to its aetiopathogeneses. One such psycho-somatic illness that is comparable to Vatika Shiroroga as mentioned in Ayurvedic writings is tension headache. The most typical form of chronic, recurrent head discomfort is a tension headache. Episodic TTH and Chronic TTH are its two types. It is one of the ailments for which patients most regularly seek medical advice. Since the beginning of time, countless analgesics have been introduced to the armoury of the contemporary doctor only to demonstrate their worthlessness. Thus, with the intention of identifying and creating an alternative, safer, effective and long-lasting therapy, the study titled. Objectives: A Comparative Study of Dashmoola Taila Nasya and Shirodhara in Vatika Shiroroga (Tension Headache). Methods: Trial was carried out on 60 patients. They were divided randomly into two groups of 30 patients each. The treatments were successfully completed by 29 patients in Group A (Nasya Karma with Dashmoola Taila) and 27 patients in Group B (Shirodhara with Dashmoola Taila).
