The conventional three-area AGC system is modified to take into account the effect of bilateral contracts on the dynamics of automatic generation control. A three area deregulated power system with each area containing two Gencos and Discos with hybrid turbines have been considered for application. After deregulation, to describe bilateral contract for three-area AGC, Disco participation matrix has been considered.
