The test results show that the automotive seat cushion structure exhibits nonlinear characteristics, such as stiffness and nonlinear damping. The procedure presented can be used to identify the nonlinear seat cushion parameters. The study developed two nonlinear models to simulate the seat cushion response, and both models possess nonlinear stiffness and damping terms.
