Swarm robotics ambitions at growing structures that are robust, scalable and flexible. The literature is being analyzed from the swarm engineering perspective. We proposed taxonomies to research the swarm robotics literature: the techniques taxonomy, wherein we discussed the principle layout and analysis methods, etc. In this paper, we supplied a review of the state of the art in swarm robotics from a swarm engineering perspective. We foresee that, as swarm robotics is further advanced and as it is used to address real-world applications, the need for a swarm engineering will increase.
