IDENTIFIKASI SENYAWA BIOAKTIF BEBERAPA JENIS DAUN BAMBU YANG BERPOTENSI SEBAGAI ANTIMALARIA
Bamboo has potential as medicine. Based on the results of research conducted by Agus & Zen (2020) regarding the Identification of Types and Potentials of Bamboo ( Bambusa sp) as Antimalarial Compounds, 14 species of bamboo plants were found scattered in Pekon Bangunrejo, Waypanas, and Betung, Semaka District, Tanggamus Regency, Lampung Province. Some of the bamboo species by the local community / ethnobotany are used as fever reducers in fever sufferers. Further tests are needed to determine the compounds derived from bamboo which play an important role in drug discovery and development of antimalarial treatment. One of the further tests to determine compounds that have the potential as antimalarials is by means of phytochemical screening. Phytochemical screening aims to isolate bioactive compounds from bamboo based on their traditional use or local wisdom. This research was carried out at the PMIPA Biology laboratory, Muhammadiyah Metro University, Metro City, Lampung Province from January 2022 to June 2022. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. Parameters observed were color and content of bioactive compounds in the quantitative test of flavonoids and alkaloids, qualitative tests of flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins and tannins. The test was carried out for 1 time of replication. Primary data in the form of observation and documentation activities. Observations in the form of phytochemical screening to distinguish the content of secondary metabolites in the form of quantitative tests of flavonoids and alkaloids, qualitative tests of flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins and tannins. The results obtained phytochemicals from 3 types of bamboo leaves, namely flavonoid compounds, alkaloids, saponins, and tannins. In yellow bamboo, Bambusa vulgaris var. striata (Lodd. ex Lindl.) detected positive for saponins, flavones and tannins. Bambu apus Gigantochloa apus (Kurz) was detected positive for saponins, alkaloids and tannins. Bamboo alar/cangkoreh leaves of Dinochloa scandens (Blume ex Nees Kuntze) were detected positive for saponins, alkaloids and flavones. Other research needs to be done to look for chemical compounds from other parts of the bamboo body, such as stems, roots, and shoots.
