Plisetskii","doi":"10.26794/2304-022x-2023-13-3-21-33","DOIUrl":null,"url":null,"abstract":"The purpose of this study is to analyze changes in the spatial structure of the national economy, including those occurring under the influence of sanctions; to identify promising areas and forms of spatial organization of the economy, designed to help overcome the prevailing negative trends and territorial imbalances in the socio-economic development of the country’s regions. One of the key problems of the Russian economy as a whole is structural imbalance. According to the author, its overcoming can be facilitated by the creation of innovative and industrial clusters, territories of advanced socio-economic development, special economic zones. Their role is primarily to strengthen intersectoral, intra- and inter-regional interaction of market participants, attract investment (including in infrastructure development), create new jobs, ensure industrial, scientific, technological and information development, which ultimately is designed to enhance the competitiveness of regions, smoothing differences in the level of their socio-economic development. In the process of work, general scientific methods were used: economic and statistical, comparative analysis, systematization of data.
