Interview data and visual artwork were collected from six dance movement therapists. Qualitative analysis identified 42 subcategories, 13 categories, and 5 themes: (a) body play as a driving force for psychophysical development, (b) limitations in the clinical field due to multiple factors, (c) struggles and threats to professionalism in evaluation, (d) cultivating professionalism and interpersonal support to overcome clinical challenges, and (e) qualities and roles for professional life.
