Abstract

The protective properties and temperature resistance of sulfonate greases based on petroleum oil KS-19 have been assessed. Highly alkaline calcium sulfonates of Russian and foreign production are used as thickeners for such greases. Sulfonate greases have been shown to have good protective properties. It has been established that the ability of sulfonate greases to prevent corrosion depends on the protective properties of calcium sulfonate used as a thickener.
