We present the outcomes of using this technique in eight patients. <b>Results:</b> All patients had an excellent outcome at a mean follow-up of 17 months, and none required removal of the implants. <b>Conclusions:</b> This study presents a surgical technique that may potentially reduce the high complication rate found after ORIF for treatment of DFD of the PIPJ.
