Composite materials due to their remarkable properties, possibility to adaptation to the design requirements and facilitation of restoration measures are widely used for strengthening. This article is focused on review of restoration approaches with the use of composite materials and specific features of their behavior under various impacts. Study includes analysis of recent studies in the area, identifying gaps of knowledge and perspectives for further research. The most relevant areas of research were distinguished including numerical finite element modelling for parametric analysis, deepening of understanding of composites` linearly elastic behavior, approaches to prevent delamination failure.
