This article describes the results of studies on the influence of parameters of chemical thermal treatment of copper slag particles on the quality of hydroabrasive cutting. The essence of the synthesis of the silicon carbide diffusion layer on the surface of a copper slag particle in order to create new heavy duty abrasive material is described. Data on the surface quality after hydroabrasive cutting under various modes of chemical thermal treatment have been obtained.
