Low socioeconomic level and inadequate glycemic control were the major factors for development of diabetic foot, besides smoking, obesity, and lack of shoes. Most patients improved in a short span of time, despite of high rate of amputations. Multidisciplinary care, and tissue regeneration medicines favored good outcomes.
