KAMPÜS İÇİ ULAŞIM ALTERNATİFLERİNİN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ: BİR ÖN ÇALIŞMA
The campus and on-campus travel are important because it may affect the timely attendance to face to face courses and exams. The transport modes can be comprehensively evaluated by considering the factors such as travel distance, cost, transportation speed, weather conditions, and emission values. The aim of the study is to identify students’ on-campus transport mode choice. A questionnaire is developed to identify the factors that affect students’ transportation preferences during course and exam periods. The results illustrate that the social distancing factor, with the increased importance after pandemics, was more correlated with the transport modes such as, own car, bicycle, and walking. However, the most preferred transport mode on-campus was determined as the minibus (ring line), especially during exam periods. Walking was only preferred if the student resides close to the campus. Both genders stated that the bicycle roads were narrow. Weather conditions and the air temperature were identified as the critical factors that influence preference active transport modes.
