Distribución geográfica, caracterización y contrastación de la estructura educativa de la Región de Murcia

The Region of Murcia has a broad and well-distributed educational structure (at various levels). However, the information published on this education system in the main national (National Institute of Statistics) and regional (Regional Statistics Centre of Murcia) statistical portals is archaic and has not been updated in the last five years (the latest data published date from the 2016/2017 academic year). This fact urgently demands a revision and modernisation of the data from the educational centres. In this regard, this paper aims to provide a report on the current state (as of 29/20/2021) of the educational structure of the Region of Murcia, providing a more detailed view with the organisation of educational centres in different categories and their georeferenced representation by means of our own cartography. Similarly, the characteristics, educational levels and services (bilingual, canteen, transport, open classroom, morning class, distance learning, etc.) offered by each centre are analysed, with the aim of estimating whether the ranking of affinity and recommendation of the best educational centres in the Region of Murcia produced by the "Micole" portal is representative or, on the contrary, the subjectivity of the data collection does not correspond to the services offered by each centre. La Región de Murcia cuenta con una estructura educativa (a varios niveles) amplia y bien distribuida. Ahora bien, la información publicada de este sistema de enseñanza en los principales portales estadísticos nacionales (Instituto Nacional de Estadística) y regionales (Centro Regional de Estadística de Murcia) es arcaica y no ha sido actualizada durante el último lustro (los últimos datos publicados datan del curso 2016/2017). Este hecho demanda con urgencia una revisión y modernización de los datos procedentes de los centros de enseñanza. A este respecto, el presente trabajo trata de mostrar la situación actual (a fecha 29/20/2021) de la estructura educativa de la Región de Murcia, aportando una visión en mayor detalle con la organización de centros docentes en diferentes categorías y su representación georreferenciada mediante cartografía de elaboración propia. Del mismo modo, se analizan las características, niveles educativos y servicios (bilingüe, comedor, transporte, aula abierta, aula matinal, educación a distancia, etc.) ofrecidos por cada centro, con la finalidad de estimar si el ranking de afinidad y recomendación de mejores centros educativos de la Región de Murcia elaborado por el portal “Micole” es representativo o, por el contrario, la subjetividad de la toma de datos no se corresponde con los servicios ofrecidos por cada centro.
