The prevalence is expected to continue to rise. The prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases and the early detection of patients suffering from heart failure are essential. Different therapies are available depending on the extent of the reduction in left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF). Optimal treatment prevents unnecessary admissions to hospital, reduces mortality and improves quality of life.
